The nearest small town, about 2 miles away, is Upton upon Severn. Upton is not only a lovely little riverside town in its own right, but hosts a number of festivals each year which attract people from far and wide. These typically include annual Folk, Jazz and Blues music festivals.
Upton is a bustling river town with plenty of places to eat and drink, and a local tourist information office.

There are a number of nearby interesting locations and historic towns and cities within very easy reach of Holly Lodge including the Malvern Hills, Worcester, Tewkesbury (with its Abbey), Cheltenham (including its Racecourse), Ledbury and more.
If you are planning to come to Cheltenham Races for Gold Cup week, then you will need to book up early - accommodation is always in very short supply that week!
